As we gather on Yom Kippur, we turn to the sacred tradition of Yizkor, honouring the memory of those we’ve lost. While these prayers are shared as a community, they carry deep personal significance for each of us.
Last year at Shtiebel, we introduced a heartfelt new candle lighting ritual as part of our Yizkor service. It was so warmly received that we are expanding it this year to ensure even more space for memory, reflection, and connection.
By completing the form below, you’ll give us the honour of creating a personal memorial candle in memory of those you are holding in your heart. Their names will be read aloud during the ritual, offering a quiet moment of reflection as each candle is lit.
Please take a moment to ensure that the spelling of each name is accurate, as the names you submit will be used not only to personalise the candles, but also to be printed in our Yizkor memorial booklet.
There is no charge for the candles, and you are welcome to include as many or as few names as you wish. While donations are always appreciated, this is a gift we offer freely — part of our shared commitment to honouring memory and nurturing community.
Together, we hold space for each other’s grief and love, bringing comfort and light to this most sacred moment in our year.
